Ambrose Anaya
I’m a dedicated student at College of the Sequoias, pursuing a career in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting. My journey began in 2004 when I met my wife, Melissa, a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA). Learning to communicate with her Deaf parents ignited a deep passion for ASL and Deaf culture, inspiring me to bridge communication gaps with respect and empathy.
Currently enrolled in ASL 4 and Intro to ASL Interpreting, I’m honing my skills in signing, interpreting ethics, and cultural competency. I’m excited to explore all facets of interpreting, from community events to professional settings, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity and understanding. This portfolio reflects my growth and dedication to becoming a skilled interpreter.
